Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend movie unveiled a special visual on Tuesday, featuring Shoko Makinohara. The movie is slated to release on October 16 in Japanese theaters. The series also revealed a main trailer recently.
CloverWorks returns to animate the movie with Souichi Masui as director. Masahiro Yokotani is in charge of the series composition, Satomi Tamura is in charge of character design, and Fox Capture Plan is composing the music. The movie will be adapting the final two volumes of the light novel. The cast includes:

- Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa
- Reina Ueda as Mini-Skirt Santa
- Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa
- Nao Toyama as Tomoe Koga
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba
- Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama
- Inori Minase as Shoko Makinohara
- Sora Amamiya as Uzuki Hirokawa
- Aya Yamane as Ikumi Akagi
- Konomi Kohara as Sara Himeji
- Manaka Iwami as Miori Mito
The Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series was written by Hajime Kamoshida, while Keji Mizoguchi drew the illustrations for it. ASCII Media Works began publishing it under their Dengeki Bunko imprint in April 2014. The final volume was released on October 10, 2024, marking the end of the novel after 10 years of serialization.
