HIDIVE announced that it will exclusively stream the I’m Dating a Dark Summoner anime this October, adapting the manga series created by Shaoh and published by KADOKAWA. WWWave is handling production; the series will be produced under WWWave’s Deregula animation label.
“We’re excited to present the upcoming new simulcast series I’m Dating a Dark Summoner exclusively on HIDIVE this October as part of its Fall 2026 simulcast season,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. “Offering audiences a hilarious mix of fantasy and rom-com, I’m Dating a Dark Summoner will be released as an attention-grabbing short form show, a popular growing format and emerging trend in anime. The series will be available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. HIDIVE describes it:
A romantic comedy about a bickering couple: Amona, a dark summoner and demi-human girl who’s too weak to resist her desires, and Roni, an overly serious priest! Roni welcomes Aruni as a new member to his adventuring party. Everyone expected the two would clash and become sworn enemies. But, to their surprise and on their first day together, they have a one-night stand…!
I’m Dating a Dark Summoner is based on Shaoh’s manga series launched in 2021 and published by KADOKAWA in print under its Dragon Comics Age imprint. It’s also serialized digitally under the Dra Dra Sharp# imprint via platforms Kadokomi and Niconico.
