Re:ZERO Season 4 Director Reveals Unblurred Image of Rem Scene From Episode 13

Re:ZERO Season 4 director Masahiro Shinohara revealed an original version of a scene from Episode 13, featuring an unblurred image of Rem. The scene was shown on August 19 in the episode titled “Stand Up,” and Subaru’s tears were the reason for the initial blurriness. Shinohara commented:

“Please take a look at Rem, who you couldn’t see in the actual episode because of Subaru’s tears.
All of the staff worked really hard on this, so I thought it would be a shame for her to remain unseen like that.”

This was the second episode of the second cour, which is subtitled The Recapture Arc. A teaser trailer previously featured some of the scenes from the Corridor of Memories as well. Masahiro Shinohara also directed Season 3 of the anime, for which we had the opportunity to interview him last year along with Subaru’s Japanese voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi and character designer Haruko Sagawa.

The first part of the anime dominated our Spring 2026 awards, winning a total of 19 awards. Studio WHITE FOX is animating.

The first season of the anime aired in 2016, adapting the light novel series by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka . The series also announced 10 major projects for its 10th anniversary this year.
