GROW UP SHOW: Sunflower Circus (stylized as GROW UP SHOW ~Sunflower Circus~) original anime has revealed a new main visual and two PV trailers ahead of its July 4 premiere. The anime will be produced by Aniplex, with animation by A-1 Pictures alongside its new internal animation label, Psyde Kick Studio.
Set in Japan during the rapid economic growth period of the 1950s, when traveling circuses were a major source of entertainment across the country, the series follows the struggling Himawari Circus troupe as they travel from town to town while facing constant financial difficulties. The story begins when circus prodigy Mizuka Tsurumaki arrives at the troupe under mysterious circumstances. You can see the main visual:
The anime’s theme songs have also been revealed. The opening theme, “Yurari Yureru,” will be performed by NOMELON NOLEMON, while Aooo performs the ending theme, “DAYS!” The new teasers preview both of the songs, and you can check them out below.
Designing the original characters is Kurehito Misaki, known as the illustrator of the Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend light novel series. Kanta Kamei, who directed both seasons of the Saekano TV anime and its 2019 movie (alongside Akihisa Shibata), will helm the new original show. Takeshi Kikuchi (Skeleton Knight in Another World) will be in charge of the series composition. The main staff includes:
