My Hero Academia has released a special anniversary video as part of the anime’s ongoing 10th anniversary celebration, showing Izuku Midoriya’s journey from a Quirkless boy to the greatest hero through some of the series’ most memorable moments.

Titled “PLUS ULTRA MOVIE ‘You Can Become a Hero'”, the video was released on June 16, which the franchise celebrates as “Hero Day.” The date commemorates the broadcast of Season 3 Episode 49, “One For All,” on June 16, 2018, featuring the iconic fight between All Might and All For One.

The video features “You Say Run” by Yuki Hayashi, one of the anime’s most recognizable soundtracks. Veteran character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and other members of the anime staff returned to contribute to the special production. You can watch the video below.

Kohei Horikoshi drew the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 until August 2024. The series ended last year after a 10-year run, getting numerous illustrations and messages for the conclusion.

The anime adaptation first premiered in April 2016 and has since become one of the most popular modern shonen franchises worldwide. The mainline TV anime concluded with Episode 170 on December 13, 2025, while the series released the epilogue episode My Hero Academia: More on May 2, 2026. That’s also when another new anime, a short focused on Eri, was announced. It is set to premiere this summer.
