The previously announced My Awkward Senpai revealed a new visual and trailer featuring three additional cast members and the main character Azusa Kannawa. The anime is slated to premiere in October 2025 and the opening theme song, “Bukiyo na I love you” by angela can also be heard on the latest trailer.
The three additional voice cast members consist of:
- Shogo Sakata as Yuu Kamegawa
- Ami Maesshima as Mio Hotta
- Mitsuki Saiga as Ritsu Kankaiji
Studio Elle is animating the series with Ayumu Kotake as director. Mio Inoue is in charge of the series composition and script while Kenro Tokuda is handling the character design. Koji Fujimoto composes the music. Voice actress Lynn stars in the series as Azusa Kannawa.
The anime adaptation is based on a manga series by Makoto Kudo, which initially started as a web comic on Kudo’s Twitter (now X) account. The series is published in English by Comikey and by Square Enix through their Manga UP! Global application. Comikey describes the story:
“Well… as you can see, my senpai’s a little intense – hold on, “a little”?”
Kannawa-senpai is considered many things, but smooth is definitely not one of them. Then she meets Kamegawa, her new Kouhai. He’s cute, a little nerdy, and easy to talk to. How will this awkward Senpai be able to handle these new feelings?!
