LYNX Volume 1 Launches From VIZ Originals, Exclusive Preview Images Available

Samuel Sattin and artist tokitokoro’s new manga series LYNX has officially launched under VIZ Originals, with Volume 1 releasing on August 11.

Described as a neo-tech mystery thriller, LYNX follows bio-enhanced detective Lynx Takuma through New Borealis, one of the world’s last habitable cities following a global climate disaster. Sattin, whose previous work includes UNICO: AWAKENING and the Eisner Award-nominated Buzzing, writes the series, while Tokyo-based manga artist and illustrator tokitokoro draws the artwork.

Early critical coverage has drawn comparisons to works including Blade Runner and Pluto due to the series’ detective story and futuristic setting.

Sattin was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2024 for Buzzing. He is also the writer of the UNICO series with Japanese artist duo Gurihiru, which adapts and continues Osamu Tezuka’s unfinished story. His other credits include A Kid’s Guide to Anime & Manga and The Essential Anime Guide.

Tokitokoro is a Tokyo-based manga artist and illustrator. Their debut one-shot, For a Good Man, was published through Shonen Jump+, while more recent credits include Nothing Butt Nightwing for DC Comics and Jeff the Land Shark for Marvel.
