Kusunoki’s Flunking Her High School Glow-Up is getting an anime adaptation. A teaser visual and trailer were also released. Studios Passione (Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf) and Hayabusa Film (Chained Soldier Season 2) are in charge of the animation, starring Yuto Uemura as Keisuke Shizuki and Tomori Kusunoki as Shizuka Kusunoki.
Midori Yui (Asteroid in Love Episode Director)is directing and handling the series composition. Koji Haneda (The Faraway Paladin) is designing the characters, and Hyadain (Rent-a-Girlfriend) is composing the music. The anime is based on a manga written and illustrated by Mitsuki Mii. It was launched on the Pixiv Comic website under Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool brand in October 2022. It currently has seven volumes in circulation.
Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English, describing it as:
Keisuke Shizuki might have been an outcast in middle school, but not anymore. The trauma of being rejected by his first crush left Shizuki with a phobia of pretty girls and the drive to remake himself and start high school fresh: new looks, new friends, new confidence.
