Genshin Impact has confirmed that its next major region, Snezhnaya, will launch on August 12, 2026, following a developer livestream hosted by HoYoverse.
The update introduces the long-awaited Cryo nation. According to the presentation, Snezhnaya will be the “culmination of plot lines” established since the game’s launch, including the role of the Tsaritsa and the fate of the six Gnoses.
The region will feature new cultural and environmental elements, including trains as both a thematic and functional addition to travel. The setting draws from classical symphonic music and Slavic-inspired influences, which show in both its design and soundtrack.
Gameplay updates related to the region will include new mechanics centered on Cryo, increasing its use beyond combat into open-world interaction. The developers also confirmed more system updates, including visual enhancements to character models and improved integration between gameplay and cinematic storytelling.
