BLUE LOCK Live-Action Film Begins Worldwide Release, Reveals Dates and Posters for Serbia, Montenegro, Taiwan and Sweden

The live-action BLUE LOCK film is beginning its international theatrical rollout, with releases announced for Taiwan, Serbia, Montenegro and Sweden this week. Localized theatrical posters have also been revealed.

The current international schedule lists the film for:

• Taiwan on August 12
• Serbia on August 13
• Montenegro on August 13
• Sweden on August 14

The announcement indicates that additional territories will follow with “and more,” although no other countries or release dates have been revealed by the official accounts so far.

The localized posters feature the main visual with some local language. The Serbian and Montenegrin version has “Samo u bioskopima” (in theaters only), while Sweden’s poster includes Swedish promotional text. Taiwan also received its own version of the poster with the Chinese title and its August 12 opening date.

The film began screening in Japan on August 7 and recorded 188,212 admissions and ¥277,648,800 ($1.7 million USD) at the box office from August 7 to 9.

The movie was announced alongside Season 3 of the TV anime, with Mei Hata recently joining the cast as Anri Teieri. You can see more of the cast below.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro writes the BLUE LOCK manga, with art by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English. The story follows BLUE LOCK, the project to create the ultimate egoistical striker that will take Japan to a World Cup trophy. Animated by 8bit, the anime has released two TV anime seasons and the BLUE LOCK -Episode Nagi- movie so far.
